✨ Paris, Je T’aime – Our Favorite City to Return To
There’s just something about Paris!
No matter how many times we visit (we’ve been three times now!), it still gives us butterflies. The romantic streets, the scent of fresh baguettes wafting from every corner, the way the Eiffel Tower glows at night – Paris feels like a storybook that comes to life every time you open it.
This trip, we stayed in a cozy Airbnb in the elegant 7th arrondissement, steps away from local markets, charming cafés, and, of course, the Iron Lady herself – the Eiffel Tower. Here’s a peek into our Paris days – full of croissants, culture, a little Emily in Paris fan-girling, and memories that make my heart smile every time I look back.

🏡 Home Sweet (Parisian) Home
We stayed at My Maison in Paris – Invalides, nestled on Rue de Grenelle. It was a warm and peaceful spot to rest between adventures – and honestly, the perfect base for exploring both the iconic sights and the hidden gems. We loved being in a neighborhood where locals live, work, and sip espresso on sun-drenched patios.
🌟 Day 1 – Local Markets, Eiffel Sparkles & Gelato Dreams
After arriving and settling in, we wandered the local markets, soaking in all the Parisian charm – from fresh flowers to cheese stalls that made my heart skip a beat. For dinner, we chose Gusto Italia – cozy, family-friendly, and just what we needed after a long day.
We capped the evening with one of our favorite rituals: walking to the Eiffel Tower just in time to catch her sparkle show. Every hour on the hour after sunset, she lights up in shimmering gold – and it still gives me chills.
On the way home, we stopped at Amorino Gelato for a sweet scoop (or three). Those flower-shaped cones are almost too pretty to eat. Almost. 😉

📸 Day 2 – Photoshoots, The Louvre & Masterpieces
We started our morning with a family photo shoot – and if you’re looking for a photographer, I highly recommend Krystal Kenny. She has a true gift for capturing the magic of Paris! ✨ Our backdrop? The iconic Pont de Bir-Hakeim, a bridge that’s not only famous for its cinematic views of the Eiffel Tower but also its beautiful double-decked structure.
This spot is a dream for photos: elegant stone arches, intricate ironwork, and that perfect blend of historic charm and urban beauty that Paris does so well. Standing there, surrounded by the soft gray tones of the bridge’s steel frame, the romantic old-world lamps lining the walkways, and the Seine glimmering below, it truly felt like we were living inside a postcard.
The way Parisian architecture ties grandeur and grace together is simply breathtaking – every detail, from the ornate balconies to the rows of charming shuttered windows, tells a story. And here at Pont de Bir-Hakeim, you get a little bit of everything: the timeless beauty of the bridge itself, the sparkle of the Eiffel Tower just behind you, and the steady hum of Paris waking up for the day.
Pro Tip: Plan your shoot early in the morning to catch the soft golden light and beat the crowds. And don’t be afraid to dress up a little – in Paris, there’s no such thing as being too chic for a photo!
Then came brunch at Angelina. I had been dreaming of their rich, velvety hot chocolate, and it did not disappoint. (Pro tip: try the Rigatoni with tomato, eggplant, and parmesan. Trust me.)
Next up, a stop at Ladurée for macarons – because no trip to Paris is complete without them.
We spent the afternoon wandering The Louvre – and let me tell you, it was like stepping into the pages of an art history book. From the enigmatic smile of the Mona Lisa to the graceful beauty of the Venus de Milo, every corridor echoed with centuries of artistic brilliance and cultural significance. The Louvre isn’t just a museum; it’s the world’s largest art museum and a former royal palace, housing over 35,000 works of art.
Whether you’re marveling at Delacroix’s “Liberty Leading the People,” admiring the intricacy of Michelangelo’s sculptures, or standing beneath the glass pyramid designed by I. M. Pei, every moment feels iconic. The museum is divided into different wings, so you can explore everything from ancient Egyptian artifacts to 17th-century French masterpieces.
Pro tip: Download the Louvre’s app or join a guided tour to make the most of your visit – it’s easy to get overwhelmed by its size and the sheer amount of art (trust me, it’s massive!). And wear comfy shoes – you’ll be getting your steps in. 😉
Dinner? We switched it up with sushi and ramen at Oniwa – delicious and cozy!

The Louvre:

🗼 Day 3 – Tower Views & River Blues
We tackled the Eiffel Tower and went all the way to the summit – and wow. Seeing the city from up there, with its rooftops, winding river, and tree-lined boulevards, felt like floating in a Parisian dream. The panoramic views are absolutely breathtaking, especially at golden hour when the whole city glows in soft, golden hues.
What made this visit extra special? It was our youngest daughter’s very first time in Paris, and the pure joy on her face when we reached the top was unforgettable. She was absolutely ecstatic, pointing out every tiny detail from above – the boats on the Seine, the “tiny cars,” and the shimmering skyline. It was one of those core memories we’ll hold onto forever.
Pro Tip: For families with kids, the summit is a magical experience, and capturing a selfie is a must. Remember to book Eiffel Tower tickets in advance to avoid long lines, especially for the summit, and consider taking the stairs to the second floor for rewarding views along the way.
Later, we hopped on a Seine River Cruise 🚤 – gliding past Notre-Dame, the Musée d’Orsay, and under charming, romantic bridges while sipping wine and watching the world go by. It’s the perfect way to see the city from a different perspective, especially at sunset when the monuments start to twinkle.
Pro Tip: Choose an evening or sunset cruise for the ultimate romantic vibes. Many offer drinks or dinner options, so it can double as a relaxing night out.
We finished the evening with a slow, peaceful walk through the Champs de Mars gardens, letting the kids run free and soaking in that signature soft Parisian light. These little in-between moments? They’re the real magic – the kind of memories that sneak up on you and stay forever.
Pro Tip: Pack a little picnic and enjoy it on the grass with a view of the Eiffel Tower. Locals do it best – baguette, cheese, a bottle of wine, and the sky turning shades of pink.

🎨 Day 4 – Art, Cafés & Emily in Paris Vibes
If you’re an art lover – or even if museums aren’t usually your thing – the Musée d’Orsay will absolutely win you over. Housed in a gorgeous former Beaux-Arts train station, the space itself is a work of art. With its massive clock windows and arched glass ceiling, you’ll find yourself just as captivated by the architecture as the exhibits. We stood in awe of Van Gogh’s self-portraits, lingered in front of Monet’s dreamy water lilies, and felt all the feels taking in the vibrant strokes of Renoir and Degas. It’s the kind of museum that doesn’t overwhelm, but rather invites you to slow down and savor.
Pro Tip: Try to go early in the day or late afternoon to avoid the biggest crowds. And don’t skip the top floor – not only does it hold some of the best pieces, but the view through the giant clock window is chef’s kiss. 📸
Later, we followed in the footsteps of my favorite fictional expat by heading to Rue de l’Estrapade, one of the most iconic filming locations from Emily in Paris. It’s where Emily’s charming apartment, Gabriel’s restaurant, and the adorable café all come together in one oh-so-Parisian square. The cobblestone streets, flower-filled balconies, and quiet charm made me feel like I had stepped into the show – all that was missing was a red beret and a croissant in hand! 🥐 Couldn’t resist living my best Netflix life. 📺
We also paid a visit to the Pantheon, where the grandeur and history made us pause and appreciate the depth of Parisian culture. After a quick coffee break at a nearby café, we capped off the day with some window shopping (and a little treating ourselves) in the Golden Triangle – the chic district lined with luxury boutiques, flagship fashion houses, and the most beautifully dressed mannequins you’ve ever seen. 💁🏽♀️✨
Pro Tip: Even if you’re not shopping, the Golden Triangle is worth strolling through – it’s fashion eye candy at its finest. And hey, there’s no shame in sipping a coffee and pretending you’re on a Vogue assignment.

☕ Parisian Café Love – some of my favs!
- Café de Flore – A historic hotspot for writers, philosophers, and fashionistas.
- Carette – Gorgeous pastries and perfect people-watching.
- Boot Café – Small but trendy, hidden in Le Marais.
- Coutume Café – Great coffee in a stylish space.
- Le Consulat – Iconic Montmartre photo stop with charm to spare.
🎬 Emily in Paris Filming Locations
For fans of the show, these are a must:
- Rue de l’Estrapade – Emily’s apartment and Gabriel’s restaurant.
- Palais Royal Garden – Where she meets Mindy.
- Pont Alexandre III – That perfume ad scene!

🚇 Getting Around Like a Parisian
- Walk as much as possible — Paris is best seen on foot.
- For longer distances, grab a Navigo Easy Card and hop on the Metro.
- Ubers and taxis are there if you need them, but traffic can slow things down.
- The Seine River Cruise doubles as transport and sightseeing — win-win!
Final Thoughts
Paris has a way of leaving little love notes in your memory — the clink of coffee cups, the glow of golden hour, the laughter echoing off stone buildings. Ever time we go, it still feels brand new each visit.
Whether it’s your first trip or your fifth, Paris welcomes you like an old friend and offers something new every time.
