Exploring Switzerland: A Dreamy Escape Full of Chocolate, Charm & Bollywood Magic 
Switzerland had been on our bucket list forever, and this trip? It exceeded every dreamy expectation 
From paragliding above alpine peaks to sipping hot chocolate lakeside, every moment felt like we were floating through a postcard β or better yet, a scene straight from a Shah Rukh Khan (SRK) film 
Being in the country where Dil Wale Dulhania Le Jayenge (DDLJ) was filmed gave me all the feels β and letβs just say, this SRK fangirl was living her cinematic fantasy 
We based ourselves at a gorgeous Airbnb by Lake Sarnen β peaceful, serene, and with the kind of views you never want to stop staring at 
Hereβs a look into our unforgettable Swiss adventure 
Day 1: Arrival in ZΓΌrich and Lake Sarnen β The Calm Before the Adventure 
We landed in ZΓΌrich in the afternoon and immediately picked up our rental car 
, excited for the adventure ahead. The drive to Lake Sarnen was only about 1.5 hours, but the views along the way were enough to take our breath away. As we checked into our cozy Airbnb, we couldnβt believe our luck with the location β we had the lake right in front of us, rolling hills with cows wearing their Swiss bells and towering mountains all around. 
The perfect spot to unwind and get ready for the next few days.
Day 2: Grindelwald & The Adventure Begins! 
Grindelwald was calling! After a short drive, we reached this beautiful village tucked between the Swiss Alps. 
The gondola ride up to the βTop of Adventureβ was exhilarating, offering spectacular views of the mountains and valleys below. From here, we experienced some of the most thrilling activities! 
We tried the First Glider 
, felt the adrenaline rush on the Cliff Walk, and soaked in the stunning views at the top. After grabbing a quick snack at the restaurant (they had some delicious local treats!), we headed out to explore the Wild Glacier Canyon. Although we missed the canyon swinging (
), the views were still out of this world.
Later, we stopped by Interlaken, where we took a horse carriage ride through the city and indulged in dessert at 1899 Giannio cafe. A perfect way to end a thrilling day! 
Day 3: Chocolate, Zurich, and Sweet Indulgence 
A day dedicated to Lindt Chocolate? Yes, please! 
We spent the morning at the Lindt Chocolate Factory, where we got an insiderβs look at how the worldβs finest chocolate is made. Needless to say, we stocked up on some irresistible treats. 
After enjoying a delicious lunch at the Lindt CafΓ©, we hopped on a train to Zurich to explore the city. 
Walking around Zurich, we visited the mid-town lake and treated ourselves to macarons and truffles at SprΓΌngli GisΓ¨le. For a little afternoon pick-me-up, we stopped by Milchbar for a coffee, and of course, we grabbed some Swiss pastries to go. Thereβs no such thing as too much chocolate in Switzerland, right? 
Day 4: Lauterbrunnen & Waterfall Wonderland 
The next day, we ventured to Lauterbrunnen Valley β also known as the βValley of 72 Waterfallsβ. 
We hiked to the TrΓΌmmelbach Falls, where the waterfalls were so powerful that you could feel the spray on your face! Lauterbrunnenitself was like something out of a fairy tale, with charming houses nestled between lush greenery and towering cliffs.
For a sweet treat, we indulged in fresh waffles and warm donuts from Waffeln β pure Swiss heaven! 
Day 5: Paragliding, Bern & the Adventure of a Lifetime
The day we went paragliding in Interlaken was hands down one of the best moments of the trip! 
The views from the sky were absolutely surreal β soaring over the Alps, we could see lakes, valleys, and tiny villages below. Afterward, we headed to Bern, where we spent the afternoon wandering the Old Town. From the Zytglogge Clock Tower to the peaceful Rosengarten, the cityβs charm was undeniable. 
We also visited the Einstein Museum 
and enjoyed a delicious dinner at Trattoria Da Rafmi. Full of good food and even better memories, we returned to Lake Sarnen to relax.
Day 6: Exploring Lakes Thun & Brienz β Rainy Day? No Problem!
Although the weather didnβt quite cooperate for a boat trip on Lake Thun or Lake Brienz, we took it easy and stayed cozy at our beautiful Airbnb in the morning.
In the afternoon, we decided to change our plans and head to Lucernefor the best fondue at Fondue House Du Pont. 
We spent the rest of the day exploring Lucerne β from the picturesque Chapel Bridge to the iconic Lion Monument. In the evening, we enjoyed fondue by the lakefront before indulging in a little souvenir shopping. 
Day 7: Lucerne & Fondue Galore!
Our last full day in Switzerland was packed with even more adventures. We started the morning with a delightful breakfast at Christen Beck and then found a spot to try tobogganing β but it was sold out (make sure to get your tickets in advance!) Afterward, we drove to Lucerne, where we took a boat ride across the lake and enjoyed breathtaking views of the city. 
For dinner, we treated ourselves to a final fondue feast at the lakeside restaurant. A perfect way to say goodbye to Switzerland! 
Day 8: Goodbye, Switzerland! 
As our trip came to a close, we took a final morning to relax by the lake before heading back to ZΓΌrich for our departure. Reflecting on our journey, we felt so grateful for the stunning landscapes, thrilling adventures, and, of course, the DDLJ magic that made this trip unforgettable.
Final Thoughts: Switzerland was everything we dreamed of and more. From the snow-capped mountains to the charming cities, and of course, the food β we were in paradise. Whether youβre a Shah Rukh Khan fan like me or simply someone who loves beautiful landscapes and great chocolate, Switzerland should be at the top of your travel list!
